Fuel Network is pushing the agenda for the modular rollup space with their "Rollup OS" design.

Fuel aims to provide a comprehensive solution for developers seeking high throughput, security, scale, and flexibility in the rollup space. It's positioned as a rollup OS designed from the ground up for rollups, using Ethereum in a post-EIP4844 world for data availability.

Fuel offers a purpose-built virtual machine with parallelization for transactions and a custom programming language called Sway, designed to provide high throughput and capacity. The design is inherently built to support a wide creative space and lower fees for users.

We discussed the empowering feeling for developers to have their own chain or rollup, likening it to the early days of creating websites on the internet and highlighting the potential for rollups to offer developers a flexible execution environment.
