The acceleration of ZK is happening at a rapid pace. Last week we covered the collaboration between Succinct and AggLayer on the proof generation side using SP1, a generalized ZKVM. Today, we're excited to share insights from our recent chat with RJ and Mauro from Aligned Layer, the other half to the ZK puzzle focused on verifying proofs.

Aligned is on a mission to accelerate the Ethereum roadmap. By making ZK proofs more accessible and affordable for developers, they are building out the first verification layer.

We had a lot of questions for these guys.

One of them was around Alignedโ€™s approach to verifcation with a stateless architecture, meaning they aren't building their own but instead focus solely on proof verification. We asked about centralization concerns and also managing their consensus as a network. They are doing this as an Eigenlayer AVS, utilizing the economic security of Ethereum.

We also asked them straight up how many proofs per second they can verify currently and why their "complete verification" system is superior to others. We discussed why proof aggregation is so important to their setup as well.

Towards the end, we discussed the ways Aligned is aiming to reduce the cost of reading proofs on Ethereum as well as developing more efficient aggregation methods. They are committed to integrating with the broader Ethereum ecosystem, working with LRT providers and other partners to enhance economic security and network adoption.
