High Rollers:

Happy Friday!

After our recent zkEVM for Dummies episode with Brecht, diving into the world of Based Boosted Rollups, were back with Taiko co-founder and CEO Daniel for an informative presentation on its the based contestable rollup design, ZK proofs, and prover incentives.

In our interview with Daniel, we touched into the intricacies of their based rollup design, discussing its decentralized infrastructure, permissionless block proposing, and the crucial role of MEV participants with regards to using L1 for sequencing.

Then, we explored the Based Contestable Rollup design highlighting the challenges and complexities of implementing ZK proofs, emphasizing the need for extensive testing of the validity proofs.

Furthermore, we examined the role of Taiko’s guardian actor in ensuring network security, as well as the incentives for provers and the decreasing cost of proving blocks over time.

We also talked about Taiko’s upcoming token, and the transition from a utility token to a governance token in the DAO.

Taiko is pioneering the based rollup landscape and doing so in full force. We really enjoyed this presentation.

Cheers,

The Rollup.
